Tally CaloriePrivacy and data choices
Your information, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 October 2026

This notice explains what information the Tally Calorie app handles, why it handles it, and the choices available to you. It describes the current offline app and identifies services that are not yet connected.

Current service status: The app build prepared for testing stores your food diary and settings on your device. Online sign-in, cloud diary backup, advertising, AI meal analysis, DigiLocker verification, referral payouts and live subscription checkout are not currently connected. This notice will be updated before any of those services are enabled for customers.

1. Who operates Tally Calorie

Tally Calorie is the nutrition tracking app and service. For privacy questions and requests, contact the Tally Calorie team at tallycalorie@gmail.com. This contact is also the grievance contact for privacy concerns.

The app is currently being prepared for release. The publisher’s registered legal name and business address will be added here before public commercial launch.

2. Information handled by the current app

Food entries, meal dates and times, quantities, calculated nutrition totals, calorie and nutrient goals, food preferences, and any body measurements or health-category selections you choose to enter are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. These details are used to show your diary, totals, trends and nutrition tools.

The current build does not send this diary or these health details to a Tally Calorie server. It does not use an advertising network, analytics SDK, crash-reporting service, AI meal-processing service, or DigiLocker integration. It does not request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone or camera for the nutrition features.

If you use Android backup or device-transfer features, Android’s own settings and services may affect what is backed up. We do not operate a cloud diary backup in this build.

Google Play purchases: Live Premium purchases are not enabled yet. If Play Billing is enabled in a later build, Google Play will process the payment. Tally Calorie’s verification service will receive only the purchase token and subscription status information needed to verify and manage access; it will not receive your card number or payment credentials. We will update this notice with the deployed service and retention details before enabling purchases.

3. Why the app uses this information

On-device diary and settings are used to calculate and display your food and nutrition totals, compare them with goals you set, and provide the app’s food search, nutrition and planning features. We do not sell this information or use it to target advertising.

Nutrition values are estimates and are for general wellness information. They do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

4. Sharing and service providers

The current app does not transmit your diary or health information to Tally Calorie or an advertising/analytics provider. Google Play may process app installation and store activity under Google’s own terms and privacy notice.

Online accounts, cloud sync, AI meal parsing, ads, DigiLocker and payout processing are not active. If we add one of these providers, we will identify the information shared, the purpose and the provider category in an updated notice before the feature is enabled.

5. Storage, security and deletion

Your current diary remains in the app’s private storage on your device until you delete entries or clear the app’s data. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local app data; Android backup or device-transfer behavior can vary with your device settings. Keep an export if you want to retain a copy.

You can remove an individual food entry in the app or use its data controls to clear your log. The local account-removal control clears the app’s local profile and diary from this device. It does not cancel a Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be managed separately in Google Play.

There is no Tally Calorie cloud account or server diary to delete in the current offline build. Before online account creation or cloud storage is enabled, we will add a working way to request deletion of those server-held records and update this policy with the retention periods and any legally required exceptions.

We use the Android app’s private storage for local records. No app-specific encryption-at-rest guarantee is made for this offline diary. Network transmission for the listed local diary features is not used.

6. Your choices and requests

You control what food and health details you enter. You may edit or remove diary entries, clear the local app data, or stop using the app. For a privacy question, correction or request concerning information handled by Tally Calorie, email us at tallycalorie@gmail.com. Please do not email passwords, one-time codes or sensitive identity documents.

We will respond to privacy requests within the periods required by applicable law. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules have phased commencement dates; we will follow the provisions that apply when processing begins.

7. Children

Tally Calorie is designed for general nutrition tracking and is not currently configured for a child-directed service. A parent or guardian should contact us if they believe a child’s personal information has been sent to us. The current offline build does not transmit the diary to our servers.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app’s data handling changes. The effective date at the top shows when this version took effect. Please review the policy when installing an updated version.
